This insurance provides compensation for employees for injury or death due to work-related accidents. Compensation is in accordance with law in force at the time. The law also describes categories of employees to whom this insurance pertains. Usually, those are employees whose salaries fall below a certain level.  Employees are not required to prove employer’s fault to be eligible for recovery. However, there are certain exposures like consequential damages, loss of services, etc that are not covered under Workmen Compensation. Those come under Employer’s Liability which is often confused with Workmen Compensation. Both are necessary for providing proper coverage to workers.
